Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Maveform ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Maveform website at maveform.comand related services (the "Service").

1. Who we are

Maveform is a video clipping tool that helps creators turn long-form videos into short, shareable clips. The Service is operated by the Maveform team. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at bokkapavansai3@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide via Google sign-in

We use Google OAuth as the only sign-in method. When you sign in with Google, we receive the following from Google's OpenID Connect endpoint:

  • Your full name (from your Google profile)
  • Your email address
  • Your Google account ID (unique identifier)
  • Your profile picture URL (if you have one)
  • An access token and refresh token (held securely on our servers)

We do not see your Google password. We do not request access to your Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Drive (without your further explicit consent), or any other Google service beyond your basic profile.

2.2 Content you create on the Service

When you use Maveform, the following information is associated with your account:

  • Project metadata (title, source URL, creation date)
  • Clip metadata (timecodes, transcript snippets, settings you chose)
  • Brand kit data you save (logos, colors, caption styles)

2.3 Content that stays on your device

Maveform performs most heavy processing — including transcription, scene detection, face detection, and clip rendering — entirely in your browser using local AI models. The video files you upload, the audio we transcribe, and the rendered output clips are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share them via a future integration (such as a future Google Drive integration).

2.4 Technical data

Like most web services, our infrastructure providers (Cloudflare and Neon) record standard server logs including IP address, user-agent, and timestamps for security and reliability purposes.

2.5 Analytics (only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to understand how visitors discover and use Maveform. Analytics is off by defaultand only activates if you click “Accept” on the cookie notice. With consent granted, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) and collect:

  • Pages you visit and how long you spend on each
  • How you arrived at the site (referrer, campaign, search term)
  • Approximate location (country / region only — IPs are anonymized)
  • Browser, operating system, screen size, and language
  • Click and navigation events within the app

We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept, no analytics cookies are set and Google receives only a single anonymous, cookieless ping per visit. You can change your choice at any time by clearing site data for maveform.com in your browser settings — the cookie notice will reappear and you can choose again.

We use Sentry (operated by Functional Software, Inc.) to log application errors so we can fix bugs. Error reports include the error message, stack trace, your browser/OS, and the URL where the error occurred. We do not send your videos, transcripts, or clips. Error logging activates whether you accept analytics or not, because errors are essential for keeping the Service working and qualify as legitimate interest under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f).

3. How we use your information

  • To authenticate you and keep you signed in
  • To display your name, email, and profile picture inside the app
  • To save your projects, clips, and settings so you can come back to them later
  • To prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To comply with applicable law

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not train AI models on your videos, transcripts, or clips.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

4.1 Strictly-necessary cookies (no consent required)

  • Session cookie: keeps you signed in (HTTPOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax). Set by our authentication backend on api.maveform.com.
  • OAuth state cookie: temporary, used to protect against CSRF during the Google sign-in flow. Expires within minutes.
  • Consent preference: stored in your browser's localStorage (key maveform.consent.v1) so we remember your cookie-notice choice and don't ask again.

4.2 Analytics cookies (set only after you accept)

  • _ga, _ga_*: Google Analytics 4 identifiers. Used to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. Expires after 2 years (or sooner if you clear cookies).

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site trackers.

5. Where your data is stored

Your data is processed by the following providers:

  • Neon (Postgres database, EU/US regions) — stores your user profile, projects, and clips metadata.
  • Cloudflare (Workers and Pages) — runs our application code and serves the website.
  • Google LLC (Google Analytics, US) — receives anonymized usage data only if you accept analytics in the cookie notice.
  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) (error monitoring, US) — receives error logs (no video, transcript, or clip content).

All providers we use are GDPR-compliant and offer industry-standard security. We do not transfer your data to providers outside this list without first updating this policy.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your account information for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we delete your profile and all projects/clips/brand-kit data within 30 days. Server logs are retained by our infrastructure providers for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time by signing out and revoking access at myaccount.google.com/permissions

8. Children

Maveform is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.

9. International transfers

Our infrastructure providers may process your data in the United States, the European Union, or other regions. They use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Service before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
